WiFi Networking for Stadiums

Cisco Systems is rolling out new WiFi technology for sports stadiums, including new access points and antennas which are designed to improve internet access at these facilities. Cisco officials recently introduced this new initiative which they call Connected Stadium. It utilizes the Aironet 3500p Access Point along with directional antennas to provide improved coverage for smartphones and other mobile devices.

Stadium owners and teams will also be able to take advantage of the improved connectivity to enhance the game experience for fans. The Connected Stadium initiative is the culmination of several years of work by Cisco on integrating networking and video technology for sporting events. Yankees Stadium was one of the first to feature Cisco networking technology, and it was also integrated into the impressive $1.5 billion Dallas Cowboys Stadium.
