WiFi Hotspot Bug

WiFi Hotspot Bug

Verizon is suffering form a date-related LTE WiFi hotspot bug which is causing hotspot utilities to quit out on Android users.

Attempting to run devices in multiple ways and rebooting don't seem to fix the problem. A quick check of Adroid sites revealed that there was an apparent issue with the WiFi hotspot utility failing for all Android owners that were attempting to use it, although there has yet to be any confirmation from Verizon or even acknowledgment of the issue. Posts on Android Central suggested resetting your time to 31 May or earlier and this does seem to fix the problem. There are supposed to be 2 weeks left in the free WiFi tethering trial period, but if Verizon can't keep their LTE up and running on these devices on a consistent basis then it is questionable whey anyone would ever pay for this (lack of) service.
