Dual Band Wireless Internet Router For Prepaid Wifi

NetGear is offering a new dual band wireless internet router that is the first home prepaid WiFi router to provide automatic channel switching.
The router has the capability to sense when the first channel is overcrowded and automatically switch to another channel to avoid slow downs. The router runs Linux and offers five Gb Ethernet ports along with a USB port for file sharing in private clouds. The N600 router runs on embedded Linux as do most NetGear devices. This dual band router is capable of operating on both a 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz band, and it enables download speeds of 300 Mbps. The clear channel selector feature was previously only available on high end business wireless routers, but is now being offered to the home user as a way to combat the growing problem of channel overcrowding.
