SOCOM 4 delayed until 2011

A key title in the cog of convincing hardcore gamers that they need to purchase a Move has been delayed; Zipper Interactive confirmed on their website that the next SOCOM title won’t be released until 2011. Despite having a playable copy of the game at both GDC and E3, Zipper said it “didn’t want to take any shortcuts” and that the game just wasn’t quite ready.

“Instead, we want to deliver the best and most immersive SOCOM game we possibly can and we’re going to use our extra time to do just that,” Zipper Interactive community manager Jeremy Dunham wrote.

Being a SOCOM fan myself, I’d rather wait the extra couple of months and get a solid product rather than the less-than-stellar version similar to Confrontation. No new release date has been given.

DeathSpank Review

A good isometric/overhead action RPG is not an easy thing to find. In my more-than-slightly biased opinion, there hasn’t been a better console game in this category since the 2004 PS2 release of Champions of Norrath. The hunt for a true successor is relentless and seemingly unending. Now here comes DeathSpank, an action RPG in the vein of Monkey Island. Can it challenge for the crown? Well, no. Is it still fun? Well, mostly.

NCAA Football 11 Review

College football is a sport that is unlike any professional offering in the United States; it more closely mirrors that of a soccer game across the Atlantic. The rabid fans on both sides cheering, painting themselves the colors of their team and shaking huge stadiums is an experience unlike any other due to the closely knit ties between team and support base. This differentiates college football from its professional cousin and NCAA Football is out to prove that it isn’t a Madden game reskinned.

Sony clarifies Playstation Plus content ownership

Sony has recently updated their Terms of Service and explained Playstation Plus and how the content is related to the end user but many people are still confused as to what is theirs to keep and what isn’t. Sony came out and offered this bit of information in lieu of those questions:

“Free add-ons expire if your subscription ends.

Add-ons you pay for (even if you pay at a discount) are yours to keep for good. The same thing is true for games- free ones expire if you don’t renew your subscription. Anything you pay for – even at a discount – is yours forever. Themes and avatars that are free, stay free for good.

There may be instances where a downloadable game is free and the add-on is priced at a discount. In this case, if your subscription ends, you would still have access to the DLC, but would need to re-purchase the game in order to use the add-on.”

So there you go folks. If you pay for it, it’s yours to keep. If you get it for free, they take it back.
